We are a fast‑growing US fashion group, with our own production facility in Jiangsu China, specialising in ladies’ woven apparel for major US retailers and brands, including big‑box retailers, discount chains and brand partners.
The group also operates its own ladies’ fashion brand with 100+ standalone and shop‑in‑shop stores across the US.
New York office : serves as the design and sales office for the US market, closely connected to end customers and retail partners.
Hong Kong office : functions as the design and sourcing hub in Asia.

Role Summary

You will focus on designing and developing ladies sweater collections for the US market, including programs for key retail customers and the company’s own brand.
Report to the Design Manager in the Hong Kong office and working closely with the Design Director in the New York office on US market strategy, key programs and brand alignment.
It is a 5‑day work role with very few business trips for buyer meetings required.

Responsibilities

Design and develop seasonal ladies sweater collections (pullovers, cardigans, sweater dresses, sets, etc.) for the US retail and discount market.
Turn buyers’ trend direction, inspiration and target price into commercial sweater designs suitable for mass production.
Research market and runway trends in yarns, stitch techniques, gauges, textures, patterns, graphics and colours targeted at the US market.
Prepare sweater CADs, stitch charts, colourways and detailed tech packs for sampling.
Work closely with the Jiangsu knitting factory, merchandisers and technical colleagues on yarn development, stitch trials, sample knitting, fitting and construction.
Attend and lead sweater fit sessions, provide technical and aesthetic comments and follow through to PP / bulk approval.
Coordinate with yarn suppliers on yarn qualities, blends, performance, lead time and costing.
Support buyer presentations, seasonal line showings and costing exercises.

Ideal Candidates

Tertiary education in Fashion Design, Knitwear Design or related discipline.
Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in ladies sweater design supplying US retailers.
Strong sweater design portfolio showing good use of yarns, stitches, textures and fashion details for the US market.
Good technical understanding of sweater construction, gauges, knitting limitations, washing and size / fit standards.
Creative with strong trend sense, yet able to design within target cost and production constraints.
Detail‑oriented, organised and able to handle multiple seasons and buyers simultaneously.
Good communications in English and Chinese
